The Senses
The Gymini® Melody Maker develops hearing with the three cheerful tunes played by the musical triangle and the various other sounds on the mat and toys. It develops sight with the eye-catching drawings on the mat and colorful toys. The different fabrics and textures – and soft and hard plastics stimulate baby's sense of touch. Baby looks, caresses with her hands, shakes and investigates using her hands and mouth, developing coordination between the senses.

Gross Motor Skills
The Gymini® Melody Maker’s mirror encourages baby to lift her head, and the images on the mat encourage her to remain on her tummy. As baby reaches out and strikes the toy with her hand and later with her foot, she strengthens and develops her muscles. Starting around the sixth month, as she lies on her tummy, the activities on the mat encourage baby to strike out, feel and play, thus practicing to shift her weight onto one hand and leaning on it. 

Fine Motor Skills
The toys hanging within hands reach encourage baby to reach out and strike them, at first randomly and gradually more intentionally as she practices and develops hand-eye coordination. Baby will later practice various grips by holding toys of all sizes and shapes, opening and closing her hand, pulling and pushing and later on, coordinating between both hands.  

Cognition
The Gymini® Melody Maker provides a range of cause & effect activities as baby strikes out at the toy in front of her, causing it to move back and forth, and squeezes to hear the sounds or tugs to see the toy jitter.  

Object Permanence
From the fifth month, babies begin to relate to the disappearance and reappearance of objects from their field of vision. On the back of the mirror is a smiling face that can be turned over to play peek-a-boo. On the mat is a flap with a picture of a beetle. When the flap is lifted, a colorful caterpillar is revealed. By playing a fun game of peek-a-boo, baby practices the concept of object permanence.

 EQ
Babies’ ability to sooth themselves depends on outside help at the beginning. The special structure of the Gymini® Melody Maker with the crossed arches, reminds your very young baby of the soft and round protected structure of the womb, soothing her.
