Cot mobiles can be attached to the side of a baby’s cot and those with multi-use attachments can be attached to car seats for on the go use. Mobiles are available from a wide variety of manufacturers with varying degrees of sophistication, features and price points. Obaby, Little Bird Told Me, Lollipop Lane and Kidsline provide manual windup mobiles that play music for approx. 4mins and have a rotating canopy of sweet teddies. The latter two brands also provide matching nursery accessories to their mobiles such as bedding. Cot mobiles from brands Tiny Love, Fisher-Price and Baby Einstein are battery operated and provide a much greater variety of melodies and duration of music some of which some also come with remote controls. Other stimulating features to consider are moving parts on the mobile carousal, light up toys and light shows that project onto the ceiling. In addition, the base of the mobile can offer added value sometimes housing light up scenes, mirrors and interactive toys and in some cases is detachable for play as baby grows.
