The magical world of the rainforest comes to life with music, lights, nature sounds, and lots of activities and textures to stimulate your growing baby! The comfy floor quilt has a soft silky border and colourful arches supported by a friendly giraffe. A variety of links let you attach toys up above or down below.
Rainforest friends are everywhere:
- a soft monkey
- jingly toucan
- elephant and parrot with spinning paddle.
Movable and stationary toys encourage exploration on the overhead gym or for tummy-time play. Baby can also enjoy a spinner with rattling beads, spinning butterflies, a shiny mirror and a crinkly leaf for peek-a-boo fun. Choose four fun tunes or rainforest sounds to play for up to 20 minutes.
Requires 3 “C” (LR14) alkaline batteries (not included).
The more experience your baby has of the world during their first months, the better equipped they will be to build on this knowledge in the future. Activity baby gyms help this early learning process by stimulating the development of your baby's senses.
When choosing an activity centre you should look for one with lots of bright, contrasting colours to help stimulate your baby's vision, different textures to stimulate your baby's sense of touch and noises to help focus your baby's attention. The Gymini Sunny Day baby gym has 3 different tunes, so baby won’t get bored.
An activity centre with a variety of different features and 'play areas' will help your baby to get the most of their new toy by encouraging hand eye coordination and helping them learn about cause and effect associations. The Gymini Sunny Day baby gym offers a variety of play features including the mirror for extended tummy time pay and a selection of toys to keep baby entertained.
By spending time on their tummies babies are able to improve their coordination, balance and learn to move from side to side which helps babies learn to reach and crawl, which is the foundation for all movement skills.
Research shows babies placed on their backs to sleep who were then placed on their front for extra time during the day were able to roll, crawl, sit, pull to stand and eventually walk earlier than those who were mainly placed on their backs. It also helps increases babies' confidence and independence helping them to become motivated to explore their surroundings as they learn to control their bodies.
Tummy Time mats like this one from Tiny Love, offer a safe environment to help babies learn these value developmental skills. The mirror is also an invaluable learning tool for small babies. Although they won't realize it's themselves they're seeing at this stage, babies find their own reflection fascinating. And by 3 months old, yours may have struck up a relationship with hers, and begun smiling at it. Look for a mirror you can fasten to the side of the crib or hang near a changing table.

Play is absolutely necessary for developement. Play is crucial for your child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. It's your child's way of learning about his body and the world, and he'll use all five senses to do it, especially in the first year. What does this feel like when I touch it? What does this sound like when I squeeze it? What will happen if I push this or pull that? Crawl over there? Pull myself up on this? Exploration is the heart of play, and in your child's mind any experiment counts, even hurling a bowl of cereal off the highchair tray. Development experts are fond of saying that play is the work of children (and cleaning up after play seems to be the work of parents).
As your child moves into the toddler years, his play will become more imaginative and complex. Through play, he'll exercise key skills and qualities, such as independence, creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving. It can also be an important place to explore feelings and values and develop social skills. Long before your child feels comfortable sharing his favorite toy with his sister, he may offer it to a doll. His first spontaneous "please" and "thank you" may slip out at an imaginary tea party. And what parent can resist wasting a perfectly good bandage the first time her child says his teddy got hurt?
