Tiny Love Double Sided First Book

One side is for birth to 3 months -- with high-contrast black, white & red illustrations for early visual stimulation -- the other for 3 to 6 months with brightly colored, more complex 3-D figures and activities, to entice baby to tummy-time play. 
 
The highly contrasting, strong-color (black, white & red) illustrations on one side, and the more complex, more colorful illustrations on the other side, accompany baby as his sense of sight develops over the first few months of his life.
The illustrations are inviting, helping his sense of sight to develop and mature. 

By placing the Double-Sided First Book in front of baby in the prone position, he raises his head to gaze at the illustrations. This helps strengthen the neck and shoulder girdle.

Playing with this toy

• Place the Double-Sided First Book on the side where your baby's head is turned -- between 8-12 inches (20-30 cm.) from his head.
• Try to place the simplest forms such as the snail, zebra and flower within baby's view.

• Baby's developing sense of sight enables him to see more and more details in the highly contrasting, black, white & red -illustrations.
• Because baby's visual field is still limited, the Double-Sided First Book becomes an important part of his surroundings. When baby lies on his back and gazes at the illustrations, or on his stomach, in the second and third months, and raises his head to look at the book, he is strengthening his neck and shoulder muscles.

Playing with this toy

• Periodically change the pictures in front of your baby, to provide variety, and then change them back again. This helps your baby recognize old and new objects.
• Pay attention to your baby's reactions to gauge his enjoyment of the illustrations in front of him.
• At age three months, place the book in front of your baby when he is in the prone position, to encourage him to remain on his tummy.

• With his now mature sense of sight, baby can differentiate all the colors of the rainbow, and from the fifth month -- has depth perception.
• Now he can better enjoy the 3-D, colorful and complex illustrations on the other side of the pages. Baby also begins to touch the book, while lying on his back or tummy.

Playing with this toy

• Place the 3-D illustrations in front of your baby.
• Periodically switch back to the other side. Your baby may show signs of enjoying the familiar illustrations, and as his vision develops, he will recognize more details than before.
