Since its 1980s debut on UK television Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends has become a global classic. Thomas was a tank engine who lived at a Big Station. He had six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome. He was a fussy little engine, always pulling coaches about. He was a cheeky little engine, too.

Our collection of Thomas the Tank Engine toys have been created by Fisher Price who is arguably the biggest names in the toy industry, so you can rest assured the quality and play value will exceed your expectations.

The Concept Behind Thomas and Friends
This History Of Thomas the Tank Engine
Thomas the Tank Engine first appeared in 1946 in the book Thomas the Tank Engine as a station pilot, whose job was to shunt coaches for the bigger engines. He longed for more important jobs such as pulling the express train like Gordon, but his inexperience prevented this.  In 1984, the British writer/producer Britt Allcroft came across the books, mortgaged her house and used her savings to bring the stories to life as Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. The programme became an award-winning hit around the world, with a vast range of spin-off commercial products.

Whether your child likes Thomas toys or bath time toys, and is discovering toys for the first time or blossoming into a creative genius, Fisher Price toys and games has something for you.
