The Concept Behind the Brand
Yoomi was created by mum and dad Farah and Jim. Frustrated by their experiences of not being able to get hot water in restaurants and having to stumble around in the middle of the night heating water, they were inspired to look for a better solution, and so Yoomi was conceived. The combination of Farah’s inspiration and Jim’s engineering skills, together with expert advice and help from friends and family, has created a bottle that warms baby’s feed in just 60 seconds. Feeding on-the-go, in the middle of the night or getting feed to perfect breast milk temperature just became a great deal easier.

So how does yoomi work?
yoomi’s clever integrated warmer is activated by simply pressing the button which causes the solution inside to generate heat. When the bottle is tipped and the baby starts feeding, the feed flows around the channels on the outside of the warmer which are cleverly designed so that the feed reaches breast milk temperature (32-34 degrees).

Many babies prefer drinking warm milk, but warming feed whilst out and about or getting feed to the perfect temperature can be a challenge. Yoomi addresses both these issues:

• Portable – yoomi warms feed in 60 seconds at the press of a button … the perfect feeding solution when travelling.
• Temperature – giving baby feed that is warmer than breast milk can lead to the risk that baby may not want to go back to the breast. Overheating the feed (especially in the microwave) leads to the risk of damaging vital nutrients. With yoomi, these risks are eliminated … parents can warm baby’s feed confident that it is at the ideal temperature.

The benefits of yoomi
Safe & Hygienic - Conventional bottle warmers will warm the entire bottle of feed whereas the yoomi warmer will only warm the feed the baby drinks. So rather than warming an entire bottle and the feed cooling down as baby drinks (especially with slow feeding baby and then having to re-warm!), the feed in the yoomi bottle will remain cool until it flows over the channels of the warmer inside the teat which gently and evenly warms the feed to breast milk temperature.

The bottle alone
The yoomi bottle can be used with or without the warmer and unlike most bottles, yoomi combines safety, comfort and convenience with a great deal of style. Ergonomically designed, the bottle is lightweight and easy to hold. In addition, the bottle, collar and teat uniquely assembles without ever having to touch the teat, keeping it sterile. Our cap has been specially fitted for spill free travel. The unique extra wide neck of the bottle means preparation and cleaning is exceptionally easy and hygienic.

The natural, breast-shaped teat, made from super-soft silicone is designed for easy latch-on and gives baby the familiarity and comfort needed to help them transition seamlessly from breast to bottle. Our six built-in air vents help to reduce colic - providing a natural and comfortable feeding experience for babies.

Parents’ most commonly asked questions...

How does the warmer work?
The yoomi bottle contains a clever warmer that is activated by pressing the orange button. This triggers the internal solution to warm the unit so that it is ready to use in just 60 seconds. As it flows through the specially designed channels on the outside of the warmer the cold feed is gently warmed. By the time the feed reaches the tip of the teat, it is at natural breast milk temperature (32-34 deg C). The warmer is designed to stay warm for up to one hour.

Are the contents of the warmer safe?
Yes, the contents of the warmer are safe. The warmer contains the same gel as used in commonly available hand warmer packs. The gel is a non-toxic, concentrated salt solution (in fact it is used as an additive in ice cream!). Just to be extra safe, we have added a food grade colourant so that in the unlikely event that there were any leaks - they would be immediately visible. We have also added Bitrex® - a safe but bitter substance that will ensure that even if there was a leak and you didn’t see it, baby would not swallow any of the solution.

Can yoomi overheat my baby’s feed?
No! Our engineers have designed the yoomi warmer so that it is impossible for baby’s feed to be warmed above a safe, maximum temperature. This means that there is no possibility of baby being exposed to unsafe temperatures from either the bottle or the warmer.

How does yoomi help prevent colic?
The teat design features six built-in anti-colic vents (most bottles have four) which ensure that air does not bubble through the teat and into the feed when baby drinks.

Do yoomi products contain BPA (Bisphenol-A)?
All yoomi products are 100% BPA free.

What are the benefits of using yoomi vs. using a conventional bottle?

How does yoomi make combination feeding easier?
yoomi’s super-soft, silicone teat has been carefully designed to more closely resemble the contours of a mother’s breast and the built-in anti-colic vents help prevent baby from experiencing colic. Baby will be comforted by the ability to latch on easily, making it simpler to combine breast and bottle feeding. yoomi also facilitates combination feeding by gently warming baby’s feed to the exact temperature of breast-milk (32 to 34°C).

How do I know when my warmer is ready to use (fully recharged)?
Your warmer is ready to use when: 1, it has been allowed to cool for 75 minutes and 2, it rattles when you shake it (when warmer is cooled).

Can I microwave my yoomi bottles, teats and warmers?
yoomi bottles and teats can be placed in the microwave but yoomi warmers CANNOT be placed in the microwave.

Can I place my yoomi bottles, teats and warmers in the dishwasher?
Yes, all yoomi parts can be placed in the dishwasher.

Does yoomi fit in conventional sterilisers from other manufacturers?
Yes, yoomi parts fit in conventional sterilisers from other manufacturers. It is best to sterilise the yoomi bottle separately from the yoomi warmer as the warmer requires additional time in the steriliser.
