A new baby on the way is the perfect excuse to shop till you drop, grab some bargains to decorate your new nursery or shop for an adorable sleepsuit for your newborn! Make sure you treat yourself too, pregnancy is all about pampering!
Find alternatives for Christmas treats
So, you can’t have the eggnog this year, that glass of mulled wine or you can’t nibble on the array of tempting cheeses laid out on the cheeseboard. This doesn’t mean you should hit the apple juice and Walkers crisps. Instead, why not hunt around your local supermarket or whip up some delicious vegetarian canapés- mini bruschettas, little red onion tarts and mini jacket potatoes- whatever tickles your fancy. Sip on some mocktails to get into the festive spirit- try a pink pomegranate mocktail. Add ¾ cup of pink sparkling lemonade to ¼ cup pomegranate juice. Pour into a wine glass, add a candy cane or thread fresh fruit onto a stirrer for garnish!
Mix up catch ups
So, last year you decided to go to the pub or a new bar with the girls, enjoyed all the booze and danced your way through the night. This year, why not suggest going to a fancy restaurant together and experiment with a new cuisine if you don’t have the energy to get up and dance this year.You could even invite them over for a Sunday roast or hold a movie night filled with tons of delicious treats.

This time next year, you’ll be getting ready to plan Christmas for your little one! If you can’t wait till then, why not start off some new traditions with your partner like making your own decorations, watching your favourite film on Christmas Eve, decorating the house together or walking round the block to admire all the Christmas lights.
