When it comes to baby changing times have really changed. With 5000 nappy changes between birth and potty training you need more than just a dustbin to dispose of dirty nappies.
Baby’s skin is very delicate and you will need to change your baby’s nappy frequently. You will be changing your baby approximately every 3 hours usually before or after a feed, or sooner if your baby has had a bowel movement as urine and faeces combined can make the skin very sore.
Before you start make sure you have everything ready:
- A clean safe area
- Clean nappy
- Warm water and cotton wool ( you should use plain water and cotton wool to cleanse your baby’s skin for the first 4 weeks)
- Barrier cream (if necessary)
- Changes of clothes (if necessary)
