NUK was founded by 2 leading German dental health experts, in 1956. They were the first to bring to market an asymmetrically shaped teat accurately modelled on the form of a mother’s breast, having evidenced that bottle fed babies, were more prone to misaligned teeth than breastfed babies.

NUK’s First Choice teat, is a soft nipple that easily takes on different shapes whilst also promoting the development of the mouth, lips and tongue. They are clinically proven for optimal combination of breast and bottle feeding and approved by the British Dental Health Foundation.

The teats feature their special, orthodontic, asymmetrical NUK shape, an extra wide lip support and soft zone tip that nestles optimally against baby’s palate – for a natural feeling while drinking. The NUK First Choice Teat also features an anti-colic air system, which allows air to flow naturally through an improved vent, stopping baby swallowing air and helping to prevent colic.

NUK’s teats are available in both silicone and latex, with most their bottles supplied with a silicone teat. The bottles additionally feature a scale on the bottle that changes colour depending on the temperature of the contents. The bottles are also made from light, shatterproof polypropylene, free from harmful substances, odourless and BPA-free. They are an easy to fill and clean bottle with an extra-wide bottle neck, safe grip through a slightly contoured shape of bottle with wide stable base.
