Co-founders Chris Snedeker and Kristen Peterson founded SwaddleMe in 2002, creating a line of wearable sleep products that were designed to mimic the comfort of the womb. Chris, a father of two, came up with the idea for SwaddleMe when he and his wife were having trouble getting their first baby to sleep through the night. Snedeker researched swaddling and found that it was a popular technique used by parents all over the world. However, he found that the traditional swaddle blankets were difficult to use and could come undone easily. That's when he teamed up with Kristen Peterson, a mother of three and product developer, to create the SwaddleMe. The SwaddleMe is a simple and easy-to-use swaddle that keeps babies snug and secure all night long.

The team’s dedication to providing parents with high-quality, safe and effective sleepwear for under 1year olds made them a popular and respected name in the baby industry and their company was soon acquired by Kiddopotamus & Co. In 2008, that company was acquired by Summer Infant which in turn has been acquired by industry powerhouse Kids2 in 2022.
